As a candidate running for the position of Trustee, my goal is to serve our community with dedication and excellence. Serving as an elected official has always been a passion of mine, and I am confident in my abilities to fulfill this role. Above all, the responsibility of a Trustee is to act in the best interest of the township, and I am deeply committed to upholding this duty. I am ready to set aside personal ambitions and prioritize the needs and desires of the people I will serve. If given the opportunity, I would be proud to bring a touch of grace, sophistication, and humility to the offices of Washington Township.
I had the privilege of growing up in Warren, Michigan, where business was a way of life for my family. As the eldest of three daughters, I was raised by a father who was a successful business owner and a mother who effortlessly juggled the role of his secretary and a gracious hostess. From a young age, my sisters and I were exposed to the inner workings of running a company and learned the importance of hard work and understanding customers' needs, values instilled in us by our dedicated parents.
My family consists of my husband, Craig, who has been my partner for 32 incredible years. Our two sons, Mitchel (25) and Matthew (23) are the pride and joy of our lives. Craig is an employee at Michelin, while Mitchel shines in his role as a sales representative at Milwaukee Tools and a new homeowner in the Village of Romeo. Matthew, on the other hand, is a multitasking machine - juggling his responsibilities as a realtor, small business owner, and college student, and overseeing the food and beverage operations at the Orchards Golf Course. Despite our busy schedules, the four of us bond over our shared love of food and the game of golf.
After nearly four decades in the workforce, each day still brings a sense of excitement and fulfillment. I began my career in corporate America at General Motors, honing my skills in marketing and branding. Later, I transitioned to the finance industry as a successful loan officer. But my journey didn't stop there. I've also held roles as a real estate assistant, social media manager, certified home stager, mortgage processor, title processor, notary, and contract closer. By the time I turned 50, my children were grown and I had accumulated a wealth of experience in all aspects of the real estate transaction. So I made the bold decision to prioritize my career, and with the unwavering support of my family, I became a full-time realtor. In the last six years, I have sold over $43M in real estate. This month I was named a top 100 producer in Macomb County. Since then, I have dedicated myself to providing my clients with the utmost care and expertise. These are the very same qualities and strong work ethic that I would bring to the esteemed office of trustee.
As someone with a business background, I've learned that the key to success lies in truly understanding the needs of your customers. And in this case, you, the residents, are the valued customers! That's why my top priority is to always listen to you and consider your feedback. I want to earn your trust by showing you that I am committed to hearing your thoughts and concerns. I won't just be a yes-man or no-man, blindly following orders. Instead, I will make decisions that benefit everyone involved, starting with your needs. Because when you thrive, we all thrive.
Thank you for your consideration.

I would like to know your plan or direction you would like to see Park And Recreation play In our Community. Would you want it to remain the same or to go completely under Washinton Twp? Thank you for caring enough about our community to run for office. -Greg
How do you feel about the current group of trustees?
The current board of trustees has continuously failed to address the residents' pleas for a harmonious community both inside and outside the board room. It is the duty of an elected official to foster a spirit of teamwork and create a safe space where every voice is heard. It is imperative for a public servant to take full responsibility for their actions, both in and out of the boardroom. I am committed to never engaging in any form of destructive discourse with fellow community members. As a public figure, it is essential to handle constructive criticism with grace and professionalism. My experience speaks volumes of my ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
Good Morning,
I am very interested in your take on the Ramblers vs O'Learys which has a stranglehold on the board and elected officials. Are you still on a side from over 4 years ago or have you let it go. We moved here in 2021 and it was apparent of the division. Also it is just a handful of people. Most want to just be able to provide for their families, buy groceries and live in a safe community. We would also like to know, if elected, how you would work with all trustees and elected officials. What will be you main objective with development and spending? Thank you for your time!
Hello,
I do want to thank you for your thoughtful inquiry regarding the division within the board and elected officials. It is indeed a critical issue that affects the governance and overall well-being of our community. I appreciate the opportunity to share my perspective and plans for addressing these concerns.Firstly, I acknowledge the division that has been apparent for several years. It is not uncommon for boards and elected bodies to experience factions, especially when strong opinions and differing visions for the community's future are involved. However, it is essential to recognize that such divisions can hinder progress and create an environment of contention rather than collaboration. Reflecting on my stance from over four years ago, I must say that my primary allegiance has always been to the community as a whole, rather than to any specific group or faction. While I may have had certain alignments in the past, my experiences and observations over the years have reinforced the importance of unity and collective effort. Therefore, I have consciously moved away from any rigid affiliations and have embraced a more inclusive and cooperative approach. Since you moved here in 2021, you have likely observed that the division is often perpetuated by a small but vocal group of individuals. It is crucial to remember that the majority of our residents, as you rightly pointed out, are focused on providing for their families, buying groceries, and living in a safe community. These are fundamental needs that transcend political or ideological divides. If elected, my primary objective would be to foster a culture of collaboration and mutual respect among all trustees and elected officials. Here are some specific strategies I would employ: 1. **Open Communication:** Establish regular, open forums where all board members and officials can voice their opinions and concerns without fear of retribution. This will help in understanding different perspectives and finding common ground. 2. **Mediation and Conflict Resolution:** Implement structured mediation processes to address conflicts and disagreements. This will ensure that disputes are resolved constructively and do not impede the board's functionality. 3. **Community Engagement:** Actively engage with the broader community to understand their needs and priorities. This will help in making informed decisions that reflect the collective will of the residents rather than the interests of a few. 4. **Transparency and Accountability:** Ensure that all decisions and actions are transparent and that officials are held accountable for their conduct. This will build trust and reduce the likelihood of factionalism. Regarding development and spending, my main objective would be to promote sustainable growth that benefits the entire community. Here are some key points: 1. **Balanced Development:** Encourage development projects that balance economic growth with environmental sustainability and social equity. This includes supporting local businesses, preserving green spaces, and ensuring affordable housing. 2. **Prudent Spending:** Advocate for responsible fiscal management, ensuring that taxpayer money is spent efficiently and effectively. This includes prioritizing essential services such as public safety, education, and infrastructure. 3. **Long-term Planning:** Develop comprehensive long-term plans that address future needs and challenges. This includes investing in renewable energy, modernizing infrastructure, and preparing for demographic changes. 4. **Community Involvement:** Involve residents in the planning and decision-making process to ensure that development projects align with their needs and aspirations. In conclusion, my commitment is to work collaboratively with all trustees and elected officials to create a unified and prosperous community. By focusing on open communication, transparency, and responsible development, we can overcome divisions and build a better future for all residents.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Thank you for responding and for your honesty. The small groups on both sides are tiring. Let it go. I love open communication as it seemed only certain members were privy to some events. I am all for following master plan and I do wonder what your thoughts would be on badly needed commercial businesses in the north end. How would you encourage businesses to come here? This would also help with tax base. I do not want to see any more apartments but am open to senior living. I don't know how to achieve affordable housing in this market. I am happy we received the Hox Acres property in terms of green space. Thank you again and I do like some of your plans.
As I strive to serve as trustee for our community, your feedback means everything to me.
Valuable feedback holds immense significance for me.
